This recipe brings out the best of traditional BBQ flavors, paired with buttery, toasted buns and a perfectly seasoned smashburger.

Ingredients
-
1/2 cup Dixie Red BBQ Sauce by Old Southern BBQ
-
2 tsp Perfect Burger Spice Blend by The Spice Guy
-
1 lb Ground Beef (80/20 blend preferred)
-
4 slices of Sharp Cheddar Cheese
-
4 Burger Buns (sesame seed or potato buns)
-
2 Tbsp Butter, softened
-
4 slices of Crispy Bacon
-
1 small Red Onion, thinly sliced
-
Dill Pickle Chips
-
Lettuce
-
1 Tomato, sliced
Directions
Prepare the burger patties: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions (about 4 oz each) and loosely roll into balls.
Heat a flat top grill or cast iron skillet or griddle on the grill, over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the beef balls onto the griddle or skillet.
Use the Grill Masters Club Burger Press to smash the beef down into thin patties. Hold for about 10 seconds to ensure a good sear.
Sprinkle each patty generously with The Perfect Burger Spice Blend by The Spice Guy.
Cook the patties for 2-3 minutes until the edges are crispy.
Flip and season the other side with The Perfect Burger Spice Blend by The Spice Guy.
Add a slice of cheddar to each patty, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Prepare the buns: Slice the burger buns in half and spread softened butter on the cut sides. On a medium grill or griddle, toast the buttered buns until golden brown and slightly crisp and set aside.
Assemble the burgers: Spread Dixie Red BBQ Sauce by Old Southern BBQ on the bottom bun.
Layer with lettuce, pickles, and red onion slices.
Add the cheesy smashburger patty (or stack two for extra indulgence!) and crispy bacon.
Top with the toasted bun, serve and enjoy!
Recipe Note
Pro Tip: Make sure your grill is medium-high for proper searing to ensure the patties get those classic crispy edges without overcooking.
