This Smoked BBQ Chicken is juicy and packed full of flavor. We paired it with a refreshing summer salad, however this chicken can go with almost any side. We turned the leftovers into another awesome recipe, so make extra!

Salad Ingredients
Directions
Marinate the chicken: In a large food safe container add the chicken quarters. Drizzle Dixie Red BBQ Sauce by Old Southern BBQ over the chicken. Season with both Sweet Heat Seasoning by The Spice Guy and Smoke Steakhouse Seasoning by Padiano’s Kitchen. Add water until the chicken is submerged. This will create some juicy chicken! Store in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, no more than 8 hours.
Preheat your smoker or grill to 250 °F. If using charcoal, wood chunks or pellets, we suggest using hickory or oak.
Remove the chicken from the brine, and pat dry with a paper towel. Add a drizzle of Dixie Red Rich & Smokey BBQ Sauce by Old Southern BBQ and season with Sweet Heat Seasoning by The Spice Guy and Smoke Steakhouse Seasoning by Padiano’s Kitchen. Smoke the chicken at 250 °F for 1 hour, then turn the temperature up to 350 °F and roast for an additional 30-45 minutes until the skin is crispy. Baste with a simple mixture of melted butter and 1 Tbsp Dixie Red Rich & Smokey BBQ Sauce by Old Southern BBQ.
To make the salad dressing, combine 1/4 cup Lane’s “Southbound” Sauce with 1 tsp Smoke Steakhouse Seasoning by Padiano’s Kitchen, 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar, 1 Tbsp olive oil and 1 tsp honey.
Arrange salad with listed and additional desired ingredients, top with dressing.
Serve the salad alongside whole chicken quarters, or slice the chicken off of the bone to serve in the salad.
Recipe Note
Pro Tip: Make an awesome chicken salad by combining Lane’s “Southbound” Sauce with shredded smoked chicken, mayo, diced onion and celery!
