Ingredients
-
French Roast by the Spice Guy
-
4 Honeycrisp Apples, thinly sliced
-
2 Cups All Purpose Flour
-
2 oz Bourbon
-
4 tbsp Brown Sugar
-
1 Stick Butter, room temperature
-
4 Tbsp Butter, melted
-
1 Egg
Directions
Start by preheating your grill or smoker to 335°F using hickory, cherry or a blend of sweet pellets.
In a skillet on medium high, brown ½ stick of butter and add the sliced apples. Cook for about 5 minutes then bring to a simmer. Add 2 tbsp French Roast by the Spice Guy, 4 tbsp brown sugar, and 2 oz Bourbon. Simmer for 10-12 minutes then let cool.
Prepare the crust. In a mixing bowl add 1 ½ cups of all purpose butter, 1 tsp French Roast by the Spice Guy, 1 egg and ¼ stick of butter. Mix together then lay out on a clean surface. Knead and fold the dough until smooth. Roll out and place in an oiled skillet.
Prepare the Crumble. In a small mixing bowl add ¼ cup flour, 1 tbsp French Roast by the Spice Guy, 4 tbsp melted butter, and 1 tbsp brown sugar. Combine ingredients until a crumble starts to form.
Pour the apple mixture into the skillet. Top with the crumble.
Place in the grill or smoker at 325°F for 1 hour.
Remove and let cool for 1 hour before serving.
