Chicken and Waffle Wing Rub by PS Seasoning
-
Smash That Burger Seasoning by The Flat Top King
-
Coffee BBQ Sauce by Torchbearer Sauces
-
Apple Moonshine BBQ Sauce by Southern City Flavors
-
1 Medium Sized Whole Chicken (3-4 lb)
-
1 24 oz Can of Beer
Directions
Preheat your smoker or grill: Preheat your smoker or grill to 275 °F using indirect heat. If using a pellet smoker we recommend using hickory pellets.
Prepare the chicken: Clean the whole chicken, remove the insides, and pat dry with a paper towel.
Seasoning the chicken. Apply a small amount of Coffee BBQ Sauce by Torchbearer Sauces to the entire bird, lightly covering all sides. Lightly season with one coat of Smash That Burger Seasoning by The Flat Top King rubbing into skin. Season a second round with Chicken and Waffle Wing Rub by PS Seasoning, lightly rubbing into skin.
Mount the chicken onto the beer can: Open a 24 oz can of beer and pour about a quarter of the beer out of the top. Place the beer can on a baking rack in the middle of the smoker or grill. Hold the chicken by its legs supporting the back, placing the chicken over the beer can so that the beer can acts as a support for the chicken.
Once the beer can chicken has reached 165 °F internal in the breast, remove chicken from the grill and let cool.
